Have you ever given up on a dream - telling yourself you didn’t really want it anymore, that it was just your ego, or that it was never meant for you?
I have. Many times. In fact, for years I quietly turned my back on one of my biggest dreams: growing my business into what I knew it could be. I told myself it had all been an ego dream. That I didn’t want that anymore. But the truth was, I had given up on the dream. It felt too hard, too impossible and my Shitty Committee had convinced me it was never going to happen.
But having recently dusted off my big dreams for my business - in particular my journals - I wanted to spend time in this week’s Pep-Talk, diving into the messy, complex relationship we have with our dreams.
Why do we give up on them? Why do we shrink them down to something “more realistic”? And most importantly, how can we start dusting those dreams off and daring to go after them again?
I explore some of the most common reasons we abandon our deepest desires and how to spot if you’ve been doing the same.
So, if you’ve got a dream whispering at you from the back of your mind, this episode might just be the nudge you need to listen.
